We are based in Girgaon, which is over in the Basmath area. The office is actually located at Devidas Jalbaji Karale’s place. We are just a bunch of local farmers who finally decided to pool our resources together. In a small village like Girgaon, everyone knows everyone else anyway, so it felt natural. We figured it made much more sense to work as a group than to keep struggling individually with the big markets. It is a very local operation. We do not have any fancy desks or rows of computers everywhere. It is mostly just us sitting around a table and figuring out how to get the next crop planted or sold at a decent price. The Basmath region has its own set of challenges, especially with getting enough water sometimes. We try to help each other out when things get tough or the prices drop suddenly. It is a simple way of living and working. We are not trying to impress anyone with big words or polished reports. We just want to make sure the people in our group can keep their family farms going for another year. Sometimes we meet up just to discuss the prices of seeds or what the weather forecast looks like for the coming week. It is slow work, but it is important to us and our families. We have been part of this community for a long time, and this company is just another way for us to stay connected.
