Kalady Rice Millers Consortium [P] Ltd

Our group, the Kalady Rice Millers Consortium, is based out in Mattor, right near the Kalady post office. This part of Kerala is famous for rice, and we are right in the thick of it. The facility is more about the practical side of things than anything else. You’ll see the big chimneys and the trucks loaded with sacks of paddy waiting at the gates. It’s a noisy place when the machines are running, and there is always that smell of toasted grain in the air. We work with a lot of different mills to keep things moving. It isn't just one person’s job; it takes a whole lot of us to manage the logistics of getting rice from the fields to the stores. Our office in Mattor is pretty basic, mostly used for keeping track of the weights and the payments for the farmers. We have a lot of local workers who have been around rice milling their whole lives. The weather can be a bit of a challenge, especially during the monsoon when we have to make sure everything stays dry. We don’t have much time for fancy meetings. Usually, we are out on the floor or talking to drivers. It’s hard work and the days are long, but it’s what we know. People around here rely on the rice industry, so we just keep the wheels turning through the seasons.
