Sai Aanandam

Being tucked away behind the HDFC Home Lone Bank and the Hero Honda showroom at Nehru Nagar Chowk makes Sai Aanandam a bit of a quiet spot. We are located in Nehru Parisar, right in the heart of Bhilai. It’s a decent area. Most days start early because we need to get the kitchen fires going before the sun gets too hot. Bhilai has its own rhythm, you know? A lot of office workers come by from the nearby buildings during their break. We have a few plastic chairs outside for when it gets crowded inside. The menu is just what we know how to cook well. Nothing is pre-packaged or frozen. We chop everything by hand every morning. My brother handles the front while I stay in the back mostly. Sometimes the fans make a bit of noise, but nobody seems to mind much. We’ve been here for a bit now, and we’ve seen the shops around us change quite a lot. The street gets quite loud in the evenings with all the bikes and cars passing the chowk. We just focus on getting the orders out on time. It is a lot of hard work, standing on your feet all day, but it’s what we do. We don't have a big team, just a few local boys who help out. We are just here doing our thing behind the showroom.
