Grill N Thrill

You can find us on the first floor of the Surya Treasure Island Mall in Smriti Nagar. Being in a mall is a bit different than being on the street. We have to follow the mall hours, so we are usually here from morning until late at night. The shop is F-36. It’s a decent-sized spot for Bhilai. On weekends, the mall gets packed with families and kids running around, so we stay pretty busy. We have a small team of four people. One handles the register, two are in the kitchen, and one clears the tables. It’s a lot of standing around when it’s slow, but when the movie theater lets out, it’s a mad dash. We keep the grill going pretty much all day. The smell of the food usually drifts out into the hallway, which helps people find us. We don't have a lot of space for storage, so we get deliveries almost every day. It’s a bit of a hassle getting the crates through the mall service entrance, but we’re used to it by now. The air conditioning in the mall is nice, especially during the summer months here in Chhattisgarh. We just try to keep the place tidy and the food hot. It’s not a fancy job, but we enjoy the energy of the shoppers and the noise of the mall. It feels like we are right in the middle of everything that's happening in Smriti Nagar.
