The Educare School

We started The Educare School here in Shimoga because we saw kids needed a place closer to Ravindra Nagar. It is right off Savalanga Road on Keerthinagar Road. People usually find us easily if they know the 2nd Stage area. It’s a busy spot but we keep the gates closed for safety. Most of the staff live nearby, so they walk to work. We have a playground that gets a bit dusty in summer but the kids don't mind it. The classrooms have basic fans and big windows. Sometimes the noise from the road gets in, but we get used to it. We try to keep the parents updated about what is happening. We don't have fancy whiteboards, just regular ones that we scrub down every day. The morning assembly starts early and the kids line up by height. It is quite a sight when they all arrive at once. The local rickshaws know exactly where to drop everyone off. We've been here for a while now and the building has seen better days, but it does the job well. Last year we painted the front gate blue. It looks a bit better now. We focus on getting through the books and making sure the kids understand their lessons. It's not a big fancy place, just a school for the local families here. We drink a lot of tea in the staff room between classes. Sometimes we forget to ring the bell on time, but nobody complains much. The rain gets a bit loud on the roof in July.
