Sri Adichunchanagiri Composite High School

Sri Adichunchanagiri Composite High School is located in Sharavathi Nagar, Shimoga. Shimoga is a rainy place, so for several months of the year, we are dealing with damp walls and kids bringing in muddy shoes. The school is a high school, so the atmosphere is a bit more serious than a primary school, with teenagers rushing to their next class or worrying about their board exams. The building is an older one, with high ceilings and heavy wooden doors that sometimes stick in the monsoon. We have a small playground where the students practice for local competitions, and it usually gets quite loud during the evening hours. The teachers here have been around for a long time, and they have seen many generations of students pass through these halls. We do not have anything too modern, just the usual desks, blackboards, and a science lab that smells a bit like old chemicals. The staff room is always a mess of half-graded papers and tea mugs. It is just a regular local high school where we try to keep the discipline and make sure everyone passes their exams. We do not put on a show for anyone. It is just about getting the work done and helping these young people move on to the next stage of their lives. The routine is the same every day, and we are quite okay with that.
