St. Patricks School

Our school is located in Basaveshwara Nagar, specifically on the 3rd Cross of Savalanga Road in Shimoga. It’s a decent neighborhood, and we’ve been part of it for a good number of years. We aren't a huge institution, just a regular school where kids from the local area come to get through their grades. The building sits on a normal street, and you can usually hear the sounds of the neighborhood while you're in class. We have a modest playground where the kids spend their breaks, and it’s usually full of noise and running around. Our staff is made up of people who live around Shimoga, so they understand the local way of life. We don’t use a lot of fancy teaching methods or expensive equipment. We mostly stick to the textbooks and the blackboards. Sometimes the walls need a new coat of paint, and we get to it when we have the time and money. It’s a very practical place. We don’t have a big board of directors or anything like that; it’s just us running the show day by day. Parents come by to talk about their kids, and we sit down for a chat over tea. It’s that kind of atmosphere. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just provide a place for the children in this part of Shimoga to study and grow up. It’s a steady, simple routine for all of us here.
