Sweekar Bar & Restaurant

You will find Sweekar Bar & Restaurant in the Raghu Building over in Urwa. We are right across the street from Kavita Residency. Mangalore is a place where people like to relax after work, and that’s mostly what happens here. The Raghu Building is an older structure, but it’s got character. We serve drinks and food to the local crowd. It’s not a place where you need to dress up. Most of our customers are people who live right here in Urwa. I’ve been working behind the counter for a long time. You get to know the faces. We talk about the weather or the news. The humidity here can be really something, so the cold drinks are popular. We keep the place simple. There aren't any fancy decorations or soft lighting like those new places in the malls. It’s just tables, chairs, and good food. The kitchen gets really hot in the evenings. We do our best to get the orders out fast. Opposite us, Kavita Residency is a big landmark, so visitors don't get lost. Sometimes we get travelers, but mostly it's the regulars. I like the routine of opening up and getting the stock sorted. It’s a living. We don't pretend to be anything we aren't. We just run a bar and restaurant in Urwa and try to keep the tables clean.
