Nesnas Restaurant

If you’re ever walking around the Urwa area in Mangalore, you might have seen us at Kavitha Residency. Nesnas Restaurant has been operating here for some time now. We aren't trying to be one of those high-end places you see in the city center. We just have a simple kitchen and some tables where people can sit and eat their lunch or dinner. The building isn’t brand new, but it’s sturdy and keeps the rain off during the monsoon months. Usually, the morning starts early with us cleaning the floor and getting the stoves going. You can hear the pots clanking from the street sometimes. Most of the people who come in are locals who live nearby or maybe stay in the residency. We know a lot of them by name, which is nice. It feels more like a community than a business some days. The menu doesn't change much because we like to stick to what we know how to cook well. Sometimes it gets a little hot in the dining area when the place is full, but we try to keep the fans moving. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who have been together for a while. We do our own washing and cleaning up at the end of the night. It’s a lot of work, but we like being here in Urwa. It is just our spot and it feels right.
