Kokoko Fried Chicken

Kokoko Fried Chicken is on Sturrock Road in the Attavar area of Mangalore. Our shop is directly opposite the KMC Hostel, so we get a lot of students coming over between their classes. We started this because we liked the idea of a simple chicken shop in this neighborhood. It’s not a very big place, just a kitchen and a small area for people to wait for their orders. We spend a lot of time by the fryers every day. It gets hot in there, but that’s the job. We don't have a fancy corporate office or a big team of managers. It’s just us and a couple of helpers making sure the chicken is cooked and the floor is swept. We try to keep things simple with the menu so we don't get overwhelmed. Sometimes the delivery bikes are lined up outside and it gets a bit chaotic, but we manage. We’ve been at this Attavar location for a while and have gotten to know the people who live nearby. We don't use any special marketing tricks. People just come in because they smell the food or see their friends eating here. We try to be honest about how long the wait will be when it’s busy. It’s just a regular local business trying to do things the right way. We open up the shop, fry the chicken, and clean up at the end of the night.
