S. S. Modern Rice Mill

S. S. Modern Rice Mill is located at 351 Avanashi Road in Annur. This is a busy stretch of road, so we see a lot of traffic passing by all day long. Our mill is where we take the raw paddy and turn it into the rice that people eat every day. It’s a fairly straightforward process, but it takes a lot of attention to make sure the machines are running correctly and the moisture levels are right. The building itself is quite large to fit all the sorting and cleaning equipment we need. In the harvest season, we are incredibly busy, with trucks lined up outside and everyone working long hours to keep up with the supply. During the quieter months, we spend our time fixing the parts and cleaning out the silos. There is always a lot of heavy lifting involved, so the staff here stays pretty fit. We don't have a fancy office or a marketing department; we just have a small room with a table where we talk to the farmers and settle the payments. It’s a noisy environment with the constant hum of the dryers and the sorters, but it’s the sound of work being done. We have been part of the Annur landscape for years, and most people around here know us by the sound of our engines. We just try to do a solid job and keep the mill running smoothly for everyone.
