If you find yourself on Vilankurichi Road, you might see our place at number 59. That is where Lavik Foodworks Llp is located. We spend most of our time here working on different food products. It’s a mix of a kitchen environment and a small factory setup. There is always some kind of smell in the air, usually something being cooked or packed. We started this because we wanted to make decent food items that people could actually use. The team is pretty small and we all end up doing a bit of everything, from moving boxes to checking the ingredients. Vilankurichi Road gets quite busy during the mornings, so we try to get an early start on things. The floors are usually a bit wet from cleaning and there is a lot of noise from the mixers and packing machines. We don't have a big marketing department or anything. It's just us making sure the jars and packets are filled correctly. Sometimes we try out a new recipe and it doesn't quite work, so we start over. It is a lot of trial and error really. We keep the equipment running as much as we can. It’s a straightforward job and we like the feeling of finishing a big batch and seeing it loaded onto the truck at the end of the day. It’s just how we get things done around here.
