If you’re walking down 3rd Avenue in Anna Nagar, you’ve probably seen our sign at T-101. Yesesi Super Market Pvt. Ltd. sounds like a big name, but inside, we are just a bunch of people trying to keep the shelves straight. It gets really busy in the evenings when everyone is coming home from work and realizes they forgot to buy milk or dal. We spend a lot of time unpacking crates and making sure the vegetables don't look sad by midday. Anna Nagar is a lively place, and our shop is right in the middle of it all. We have the usual regulars who come in every morning for their bread, and we know exactly what they’re looking for. The air conditioning hums in the background, but you barely notice it when the store is full of people talking. We don’t have a fancy philosophy about shopping; we just want to make sure the bags of rice are there when someone needs them. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late and we have to apologize to the customers, which is just part of the job. Our staff is mostly local people, and we all just pitch in where needed, whether it’s at the billing counter or cleaning up a spill in the spice aisle. It’s a lot of walking back and forth, but it keeps us busy and the days pass by quickly.
