Down here at number 13 on M P S Salai, things start moving pretty early in the morning. Being part of Kamaraj Market means we’re used to the noise and the crowds that come through every single day. C V L Babu Egg Mart is a straightforward kind of place. We spend a lot of our time moving crates and making sure everything is where it should be. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. The market has its own rhythm, and we’ve become a part of it over the years. You can usually find us busy with the morning rush when everyone is trying to get their supplies before the sun gets too hot. M P S Salai is always full of bikes and people carrying bags, so there’s never a dull moment. We don’t have fancy decorations or a big office; it’s just the mart and the stock we handle. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with all the shouting from other stalls, but that’s just life in a busy market like this. We know the other shopkeepers around us, and we all just try to get through our lists for the day. It’s a bit messy sometimes with the packaging and the empty crates, but we clean up when we can. We’ve been at this spot for a good while and don’t plan on going anywhere else.
