East India Company Head Office

This is the head office on Thambu Chetty Street. We’re in the East India Tower at number 201. Being in the Parrys neighborhood means we are right in the heart of the old trade area of the city. It’s never quiet here. There are horns honking and people shouting at each other all day long. The building is one of the taller ones in this narrow lane. Inside, it’s mostly just people clicking away on computers and piles of paper that seem to grow every week. We handle the main operations from this spot. It’s a lot of coordination between different departments. We don't have a fancy lobby with leather chairs or plastic plants. It’s more of a place where things actually get done. We’ve been at this address for a long time. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy to worry about that. Most of the staff has been working here for years. We know the local chai wallah by name and we know where to get the best lunch for a decent price nearby. It’s a very local way of working. We don't use much corporate talk when we are chatting in the break room. If a shipment is going to be late, we find out why and tell the truth about it to whoever is asking. That's just how we operate. It's a practical office for a practical business. No more, no less.
