A C Mart Ashok Nagar is over on 16th Street. If you know the Puthur Matriculation School, we are right near there at number 12. It is a busy little corner. We have been working out of this spot for a good while now. Mostly we just deal with air conditioners because it gets so humid here in Chennai. People stop in because they are sweating and need a fix or a new unit before the summer really kicks in. It is not a huge showroom or anything. We just keep the boxes stacked and the tools ready. The school kids walk past every afternoon and it gets pretty loud. Some of the guys have been here since we opened. We spend most of the day answering the phone or heading out to houses nearby to look at units that stopped blowing cold air. It is honest work. Sometimes the traffic on 16th street makes it hard to park the van, but we manage. We aren't trying to be some big corporate chain. It is just a local shop where we know the neighbors. If someone’s AC breaks on a Sunday, they usually know where to find us. We keep things simple. We have the parts people need and we try to get things sorted quickly so everyone can sleep better at night when it is hot out. That is pretty much how it goes here every day. We just open up, drink some coffee, and see who needs help.
