Vaksh Steels (P) Ltd

We are set up in the Ambathur Industrial Estate in Chennai. Specifically, we are at the workers' quarters, No.67. It’s a very busy industrial zone, always the sound of hammers and engines in the background. We work with steel here. It’s tough work and the Chennai humidity doesn't make it any easier. Most days we are sweating through our shirts by ten in the morning. We don't have air conditioning or anything like that in the workshop. We just have big fans that move the hot air around. Our setup is quite modest. We focus on getting the steel cut and shaped to whatever the customer asked for. There are a lot of bigger companies around us, but we stay busy with our own small contracts. We’ve been in this spot for a good number of years now. Everyone in the estate knows the location. We don’t bother with fancy brochures. If someone needs steel work, they usually just walk in and ask. We have a couple of guys who have been welding for us since the beginning. It’s a bit messy with all the offcuts and dust, but that’s the nature of a steel yard. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It’s not always easy, but it’s what we know how to do. The industrial estate is our home now. We see the same faces every day and we like it that way.
