Tata Steel Co. Ltd.

Our office is in the El Dorado building on Nungambakkam High Road in Chennai. We are up on the second floor, at number 112. This isn't where the actual steel is made, obviously, because that happens at the big plants, but this is where we handle a lot of the local business stuff for Tata Steel. It’s a pretty standard office setup. We have desks, some old filing cabinets, and computers that sometimes run a bit slow. Nungambakkam is a very busy area, so the view out the window is mostly just a lot of cars and buses stuck in traffic. We spend most of our time on the phone or going through spreadsheets and orders. It’s a lot of coordination to make sure things are going where they need to go. We aren't the kind of people who wear suits every day unless there is a very specific reason for it. Mostly we just wear regular clothes and try to stay cool because the Chennai heat is no joke. The building is okay, it has an elevator that usually works, which is nice since we are on the second floor. It’s a steady job and we have a good group of people here who have worked together for a few years. We just come in, do the paperwork, and try to keep things moving along without any big fuss.
