Steelfab

Steelfab is our little shop located at Number 1/11 on Pillayar Koil Street in Chennai. We are right in the middle of a neighborhood where everyone knows everyone else. Our main thing is fabrication and working with steel, as you might guess from the name. It’s a dusty place because of all the cutting and welding we do, but that’s the nature of the work. We have a few machines that have been with us for years, and they still run fine if you know how to handle them. The street can get pretty crowded, especially during festival times when the temple nearby is busy. We don’t have a big corporate office; we just have the workshop where the real work happens. Most days you’ll find us in our work clothes, covered in a bit of soot, trying to finish an order for a gate or some structural frames. We don't use fancy brochures to get customers. Usually, someone just walks in from the street or calls us because they saw our sign. We try to be helpful and give people what they need for their construction projects. It’s hot work, especially in the Chennai heat, but we have a good rhythm going. We’ve been at this for a long time and we plan to stay right here on Pillayar Koil Street for the foreseeable future. It’s just us, some steel, and our tools.
