Rajamoney & Co

Our shop is at New No 12, which used to be Old No 115, on B B Road in Perambur. We are very close to the Perumal Koil, so you can often hear the temple bells from our front door. It’s a very old part of the city. The building we are in has seen better days, but it holds up well enough for what we need. We’ve been Rajamoney & Co for a long time. We mostly deal with general trade items. It’s the kind of place where you can find a bit of everything if you look hard enough. The shelves are tall and reach all the way to the ceiling. I usually have to use a ladder to get things down for people. It’s dusty work, and my hands are usually grey by the end of the shift. The road outside is always torn up for some pipe work or another, so getting here can be a bit of a challenge sometimes. We don't mind. We have our regulars who come in every week for their supplies. We don't use any fancy computer systems for our inventory. Everything is written down in big ledgers with a pen. It might seem old-fashioned to some people, but it’s the way we’ve always done it and it works fine. We stay open six days a week. Sunday is the only day we finally get some rest from the noise and the constant dust of B B Road.
