Ajo Foam

Our shop, Ajo Foam, is located at No 9 in the Ymca Building. We are right across from the Royapettah Hospital, so it’s a very busy part of Royapettah. You can usually see the foam blocks stacked up near the entrance. It’s not a huge place, just a simple unit in the building. We spend our days cutting foam to size and helping people find the right type for their cushions or mattresses. It’s a bit of a messy job with the little bits of foam everywhere, but we don't mind. We aren't a big factory; we’re just a local spot where you can get what you need without a fuss. The building itself is old, but it suits us fine. We don't have fancy displays or expensive lighting. Most of the space is taken up by the stock. People come in with measurements, and we do our best to get it right for them. It’s a lot of manual work, using the cutters and moving the big rolls around. We've been in Royapettah for a while and we know a lot of the people who live and work nearby. It’s a straightforward business. We open the shutters in the morning and work until the evening. We don’t make any big claims, we just sell foam and try to stay busy every day. That is the way it has always been here.
