Our place is at number 153 on Velachery Road, though some people still use the old 51-A number when they’re looking for us. It’s a long road and can get quite clogged with traffic during the rush hours, so we try to get our deliveries sorted out early. We do a lot of fabrication work here, specifically dealing with poles and structural stuff. It’s heavy work and involves a lot of welding and cutting. You can hear the saws and the grinders going from the street. The yard is usually full of materials waiting to be processed. We’ve been at this spot for a long time, and the building has seen better days, but it serves its purpose. There’s a rhythm to the day, starting with a quick meeting about what needs to be welded first. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's just a functional space where we handle the steel and the iron. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we don’t have to worry too much about long commutes, except for those of us coming from across town. When it rains, the sound on the corrugated roof is so loud you can’t hear yourself think. We just keep working through it. It’s honest work, and we’ve got a good group of guys who know how to handle the fabrications without making a fuss about it. We just keep our heads down and get on with the fabrication every single day.
