Naresh Steel Centre

The Parrys area is always a loud and hectic place to be, and our spot at No 223/196 Linghi Chetty Street is right in the thick of all that action. If you know this part of town, then you know how crowded it gets with the big lorries and people moving in every direction. We deal with steel here at Naresh Steel Centre. It is heavy, physical work moving those beams and metal sheets around the shop floor. The building itself is quite old, like most of the structures around here, but it does what we need it to do. We spend most of our morning hours unloading new stock and checking what is left in the back storage area. Customers come in off the street constantly; sometimes they just need one small piece and other times they want a whole truckload. We do not have fancy desks or air conditioning; it is mostly just us and the steel. The noise from Linghi Chetty Street never really stops during the day, but you get used to it after working here for a few years. It is a busy life, and we do not have much time for sitting around doing nothing. We keep the ledger updated as best as we can. Sometimes the weather makes the shop incredibly hot, but we keep the old fans going and just get through the day. We are known as the local steel place. (249 words)
