Murugan Metal Industries

Murugan Metal Industries is located at 11, Sivaram Street in Parktown. This part of town is always crowded with people and carts moving back and forth. Our shop is right in the middle of it all. We deal with various metal items, mostly stuff that gets used in construction or small repairs. It’s a heavy job and the air usually smells like iron and oil. We have a couple of old machines that have been with us since we opened. They make a lot of noise, but they still work fine if you know how to handle them. We don’t have a big staff, just a few guys who know their way around a furnace and a hammer. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to Sivaram Street for years. They know we don’t do anything fancy, we just provide what they need. The floors are always a bit dirty with metal dust, no matter how much we sweep. It’s just part of the trade. Sometimes we have to move big sheets of metal through the narrow street, which is always a bit of a struggle. We’ve had a few scrapes and bruises over the years, but that’s normal when you work with this kind of material. Parktown is a busy place, and we fit right in with the rest of the workshops. We just keep doing what we know how to do, day after day, without making too much of a fuss.
