Khadi Gramudyog Vikas Samiti

We are located on the third floor at 2047/6 in Chuna Mandi. Pahar Ganj is a very busy part of town, so there is always a lot of noise and people moving about outside at all hours. Khadi Gramudyog Vikas Samiti has been in this building for a good while now. The stairs up to the third floor can be a bit of a climb, especially when we’re carrying bundles or heavy files. The office itself is pretty simple and hasn't changed much over the years. We have old wooden desks and stacks of papers everywhere. It’s not a modern glass building, but it has a lot of history and character. We deal with a lot of traditional work here every day. The light coming through the windows in the afternoon is actually quite nice when it hits the old walls. Sometimes the street noise from Pahar Ganj gets inside, but we don't mind it much. It’s just part of being in this neighborhood. We know the tea seller downstairs and the other folks in Chuna Mandi. It’s a community feel that you don't get in the newer parts of the city. We don't have a fancy lobby or a receptionist. You just come up the stairs and knock on the door. Most days are spent talking to visitors or working on the ledgers. It’s a practical space for the kind of work we do. We just keep things moving along without making too much of a fuss.
