Gopal Verma

I have been working out of 18 Bengali Market Central Lane for a good while now. Most of my mornings start the same way. I unlock the door, get the dust off the old desk, and wait for the chai man to make his rounds. This lane is quite narrow, so you really have to know where you are going to find me. It is not a fancy office or anything like that. It is just where I do my work as Gopal Verma. Sometimes the neighbors from the nearby shops pop in to talk about the heat or how the traffic is getting worse every year. It gets pretty loud outside during the lunch rush because of all the food stalls nearby, but inside it is mostly just me and whatever paperwork is on hand that day. I did not exactly plan on staying in this spot for so many years, but time just kind of slipped by. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they have been this color for as long as I can remember and it feels like home now. People come and go through the market all day long. It is a busy life in this part of town, even if my own space is small. I do not have a big staff or a team of people, just a few hands when things get really piled up. If you walk down the central lane past the old stationery shop, you will see the number 18.
