Succulent Seeds Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our little setup is at Amit Tyagi’s place in Baddha Wajidpur, which is near Karothi in Siyana. We call ourselves Succulent Seeds Farmer Producer Company Limited, though we mostly just talk about the seeds. We are focused on getting good seeds to the farmers around here because the quality has been a bit hit or miss lately. The work happens in a small shed and a part of the house. It’s always full of bags of different types of seeds, and you have to be careful where you step. Siyana is a nice area for this kind of work. We spend our time testing how things grow and talking to the people who buy from us. It is a very local thing; we know everyone’s name and their fathers’ names too. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just rely on the fact that if the seeds grow well, people will come back next year. There’s a lot of waiting involved in farming, and we spend plenty of time sitting on the porch talking about the rain. It is a quiet life, mostly, until the planting season starts and then everything gets very hectic for everyone involved. We are just trying to provide a solid base for the local crops and keep the tradition of farming alive in Wajidpur without making things too complicated.
