Gunnaur Kisaan Kranti Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our group is called Gunnaur Kisaan Kranti Farmer Producer Company Limited and we are based right in the Teacher Colony area of Babrala. Sanno Devi is the one who helps manage the space there. It’s a decent spot in Gunnaur where farmers from the surrounding villages can come by without too much trouble. We started this because doing everything alone as a single farmer is just too difficult these days. We sit down in the colony office and talk about things like fertilizer costs or when the trucks are coming to pick up the produce. It gets pretty loud and crowded during the peak harvest time, but that’s just part of the job here. Sanno Devi keeps an eye on the documents and makes sure everything is filed where it belongs, even if the office gets a bit messy with all the bags and samples lying around. The colony is a quiet place usually, but we bring a bit of life to it with all the tractor talk and the trading discussions. We don't use any big words or have long meetings that go nowhere. We just decide what needs to be bought for the next season and who is going to take the grain to the market. It’s a very local operation and we prefer it that way. No one here is wearing a suit or using a laptop for everything; we just use what we have to get by and keep the local farming community going as best as we can.
