Down in Vill-Nithari, we have the Sikandrabad Kisan Sumriddhi Farmer Producer Company Limited. This is in the Sikandrabad block, part of Gautam Buddha Nagar. It’s an area that’s changing fast because of all the new buildings, but we are still farmers at heart. We run things from the village, near the Wair post office. Sumriddhi means prosperity, and that’s what we want for the people here, though it takes a lot of sweat to get there. We are a mix of some younger guys who know a bit about technology and older men who have been farming since they were kids. It’s a good balance. We deal with all sorts of crops that grow well in this part of Uttar Pradesh. Sometimes the bureaucracy is a real headache, but having the company makes it a bit easier to deal with the big buyers. We are situated at 203202. We aren't doing anything flashy. Most of the time, we are just sitting on plastic chairs under a tree talking about the next harvest or how to get fertilizer for a better price. It’s honest work. We don't use big words or try to act like we are better than anyone else. We are just neighbors helping each other out in the fields. The soil here is still good, and we want to keep it that way for the next generation of kids who stay here.
