We keep things pretty simple here at Khushamabad Farmers Producer Company Limited. You can find us over in Debai at the Kaswaban mohalla, right near where the tempo stand is. It’s a busy spot most mornings with the drivers and the noise, but it makes it easy for people to find us. Dipti Singh looks after the paperwork and the general run of things at the address. We basically just got a bunch of the local farmers together because we realized it is much easier to deal with the big buyers that way. The roads in this part of Bulandshahr can get a bit muddy when it rains hard, but we still manage to get the crops moved when they need to go. None of us are office people by nature; we are all used to being out in the sun most of the day. We have a small storage space and we try to keep the accounts as straight as possible. Sometimes the electricity goes out for a few hours and we just sit outside on some old chairs and talk about the wheat prices or the coming rain. It’s not like those big companies in the city with fancy glass walls and uniforms. Just a room with a table where we can figure things out for the season. The local farmers come by to chat about what seeds they need or how the harvest is looking this year. We don't do any advertising because everyone around here already knows who we are.
