You can find us in Village Bihata, right in the Siyana Tehsil of Bulandsahar. Our office, if you can call it that, is at House 324. We are Samak Bio Energy Farmer Producer Companylimited. We’re a bit different because we’re trying to look at bio-energy as well as the usual farming stuff. It’s a bit of a learning curve for all of us here. Most of us grew up just worrying about wheat or sugar cane, but now we’re trying to see how our farm waste can be used for better things. It’s a messy business, but it feels like the right direction to go in. We are just a group of village people who aren't afraid to get our hands dirty. The work is physically hard, and sometimes the technical side of the bio-energy stuff gets us a bit confused, but we talk it out until we get it. We don't have any fancy experts from the city telling us what to do. We just use our common sense and what we know about the land in Uttar Pradesh. We spend a lot of time in the village and at the post office area in Bihata, just keeping things moving. It’s not always pretty, and our meetings are usually just us talking over the noise of the tractors, but it works for us. We are just trying to find a way to make our farming life a bit more sustainable for the long haul.
