The Eklavya Convent School

We've been here on Ganga Dan Singhwala Road for a while now. It’s a bit of a dusty stretch sometimes, but the school stands right there where everyone in Ganga knows to find us. Usually, mornings start pretty early when the first few kids show up, and you can hear their bags hitting the desks. Bhatinda can get quite hot or really cold depending on the month, so we’re always adjusting things around the building to keep everyone comfortable. The rooms aren't fancy, just regular classrooms with chairs and boards where the teachers spend most of their day talking. Sometimes the gate gets stuck or we have to move some furniture around, but that’s just how it goes in a place like this. Most people around here call us Eklavya and we just try to keep things running smooth so the kids actually learn something before they go home in the afternoon. It gets loud when the bell rings, which is probably the busiest time of the day. There’s a lot of shouting and running toward the buses. We don't have a giant staff, just a few of us who have been working together for a long time. It feels more like a small community than a big institution. We just focus on the daily stuff, making sure there's enough chalk and that the water coolers are full. It's nothing too complicated, just a school in a quiet part of town doing its thing.
