D A V Senior Secondary School

Living in Budhlada, you get used to the pace of things, and D A V Senior Secondary School is just part of that daily rhythm. We are tucked away in the Mansa district, and if you’ve ever been down our way, you know it’s a place where everyone kind of knows everyone else. The school itself has been standing for a good number of years, and you can tell by the way the walls look and the creaks in some of the floorboards. We don’t try to be something we aren’t. It’s just a place for the local kids to come and get through their books. In the afternoons, when the sun is hitting the playground, it can get pretty warm, but the trees we planted years ago help out a bit. Some of our staff have been here since they were young themselves, and now they’re teaching the next generation. It’s funny how time works like that in a small town. The walk from the main part of town isn't too long, so a lot of people just come on foot. We keep the gates open early so the early birds can hang out before the bell rings. It's a lot of work keeping up with the maintenance, especially with the dust that blows in, but we manage. You won’t find any big flashy signs here, just the name over the door and a lot of history.
