Bhartiya Model School

Our school is Bhartiya Model School and you can find us on Old Power House Road in Rampura Phul. This area of Bhatinda has been around for a while, and so has the school. The building has two floors and the stairs are a bit narrow, so we have to tell the kids to be careful when they go up and down. We have a small courtyard in the middle where we do the morning assembly. It’s nothing special, just a paved area where everyone stands in lines. The classrooms have big windows that let in the light, which is good because sometimes the electricity goes out for an hour or two. We have some fans that make a lot of noise but they keep the air moving in the summer. The staff room is always full of notebooks that need checking. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing team, we just talk to the parents when they come to pick up their children. Most of the families here have been sending their kids to us for generations. We know everyone’s name and which house they live in. It feels more like a big family than a business. The bells are manual, someone actually has to go and hit the iron plate with a hammer. It’s an old way of doing things but it works for us here in Rampura Phul. We just do our best with what we have.
