Susakti Vegetable Farmer Producer Company Limited is based in Ladubahal. To get here, you have to go through Badbahal via Rairakhol in the Sambalpur district. We are right in the heart of the farming country in this part of Orissa. Our whole group is basically just a bunch of local vegetable growers who decided to work together instead of trying to do everything alone. It’s much easier to handle the seeds, the fertilizer, and the selling part when you have a few hands on deck. We don’t have a flashy storefront or a big marketing department. Our office is just a plain building where we keep our records and meet up to discuss the market prices. Usually, you’ll find some of us sitting around a wooden table talking about the rain or why the tomatoes aren't growing as fast as they should. We don't use any fancy scripts when we talk to people. We just tell you what's available and what the price is. It’s a tough life sometimes, especially when the heat in Sambalpur gets really bad, but we stick together. We’ve been part of this community for a long time, so everyone knows who we are. We aren't looking to become some massive corporation. We just want to make sure our families are taken care of and our vegetables get to the people who want them. It’s basic work, but it’s what we know how to do.
