Suryabansam Farmers Producer Company Limited is based at Salepali, which is in the Dharuadihi area. Jugal Kishor Naikat is the one we use for our address and coordination. We are a group of people from the village and the surrounding spots who grow various things and then try to sell them together. Being a farmer in Orissa means you are always at the mercy of the clouds, and that’s something we talk about a lot when we meet up. Our place in Salepali isn't anything special to look at. It’s just a spot where we can gather and figure out who is doing what for the week. We don't have any fancy technology or a fleet of trucks. Mostly, it’s just hard work and using the tools we’ve had for years. We aren't interested in sounding like a big city company because we aren't one. We are just neighbors who decided that we should probably help each other out with the logistics of farming. It’s better to share the burden of getting the produce to where it needs to go. Sometimes we disagree on things, but we always work it out because we all live in the same community. We just want to keep the farms running and make sure we can pay our bills at the end of the month. It’s a simple goal for a group of simple people. That is really the whole story of why we are here.
