Kalapathar Farmer Producer Companylimited is based right in the heart of Kalapathar village. We fall under the Birmaharajpur police station area. Narayan Mahakur is the one who handles the main responsibilities at our office. We are a small group of farmers who decided to pool our resources and work as a collective. There is no corporate ladder here. We are all just neighbors from the same village and the surrounding Po-Kalapathar area. The office isn't much to look at, but it is where all the important decisions happen. We talk about what seeds are best or when we should start the harvest. Narayan is a local man who understands the problems we face every day. We don't have any big mission statements. We just want to make sure our families are taken care of and our crops get sold for a fair price. It is hard work being out in the sun all day, so we appreciate having this company to back us up. Sometimes we disagree on things, but that is just how it goes when you have a lot of independent people working together. We don't use any fancy talk or marketing tricks.
