Sabujasanatanpali Farmers Producer Company Limited is based over in Paidamal. We use the house of Sanatan Padhan, who is the son of Matual Padhan. It’s a family-oriented place and everyone in the Kabarapali area knows where it is. We are part of the Sadar police station circle. Our work is pretty straightforward farming. We grow what we can and try to sell it together so we don't get a bad deal. Being in Paidamal means we are right in the middle of the fields. You can usually find Sanatan or one of the other guys hanging around talking about the water levels or the price of grain. It’s a bit messy sometimes with all the paperwork and the sacks of seeds lying around. We don't have much in the way of fancy furniture. Just some chairs and a table where we keep the records. Farming is a tough life and doing it as a company has its own headaches. We have to deal with the government stuff and the banks, which is a bit of a chore for us. But we like being together. It feels better to face the bad seasons as a group. Most of the people here have known each other since they were kids. We’re just trying to keep the farms in Kabarapali running and maybe make things a little easier for our families.
