Mr & Mrs Idli

Mr & Mrs Idli is right there in Adda Market, Asansol, basically sitting just across from the City Bus Stand. It gets quite loud with the buses coming in and out all day, but that is just how it is around here. We open up early because that is when the travelers start looking for a quick bite before their long rides. There are a few tables and chairs, nothing fancy at all, just enough for a person to sit down and eat. Sometimes the steam from the idli pots fills up the whole front area, making it feel a bit humid inside. The floor gets a bit dusty from the market outside, so we spend a lot of time sweeping it out. Being in 713301, we see the same faces every day, mostly people who work nearby or the drivers from the stand. We don't have a big staff, just a few of us making sure the plates are clean and the food is ready. It is a simple place where the focus is just on the morning and afternoon rush. You can hear the conductors shouting destinations while you eat. We have been at this spot for a while now, and the routine hasn't changed much over the years. We just keep the stove going and wait for the next bus to pull in. It's a bit of a squeeze when it gets crowded, but people don't seem to mind much.
