Tanu Kishan Producer Company Limited is based out of Village Lama in the Banda district. We use the space at Devi Datal Prajapati’s place. It’s a village setting, so things are pretty straightforward here. We don't have a big fancy building with a lobby. Instead, we have a room where we meet and discuss what needs to happen for the farmers in Banda. The village life is what we know. Most of us grew up around here and we understand how the seasons work. When someone comes in, we offer them water and sit down to talk about the harvest. It’s a slow process building a producer company from the ground up, but we are taking it one day at a time. The roads in the village can be a bit rough during the monsoon, so we spend those days catching up on the accounts. We aren't experts in marketing or anything like that. We just know about the land and what it takes to grow things. Tanu Kishan is just a name on a paper for some, but for us, it's about the people living in Lama and the surrounding areas. We try to keep our costs low and our hands busy. It’s not always easy, but it feels right to be doing this in our own village. We don't promise anything except that we will be here to do the work and help each other out whenever the season gets difficult.
