We operate Jay Khur Dev Baba Bundelkhand Agro Producer Company Limited from Makan No. 166 in Sandhi. This is a small village in the Aluna post area, under the Pailani Tahseel in Banda. If you know this part of Uttar Pradesh, you know the heat can be something else, especially in the middle of the day. Our office is just a part of the house where we can sit and talk with the local farmers who come by. Most of the folks around here have been tilling the same land for generations, so they don't need us to tell them how to grow things, but they do need help with the business side. We keep our files in a big metal cupboard and use a simple table for our meetings. There is usually a lot of dust coming in from the road, so we are always cleaning off the desks. We focus on the crops that survive well in the Bundelkhand climate, like pulses and oilseeds. It is slow work sometimes because the internet signal isn't the best out here in Pailani, and we have to wait for things to load. But we are persistent people. We sit here, drink our water, and figure out how to get the produce from Sandhi to the bigger markets without losing too much money on the way. It’s honest work for the people of our village.
