You can find Kalinjar Naraini Farmer Producer Company Limited over at Sudama Bai’s place in Gram Panchayat Sadhaanandpur. It is out in Naraini and it takes a little while to get here if you are coming from the main town. We are a group of farmers who decided to pull our resources together. It isn't a big corporation. It is just us in a small room with some wooden benches. We spend a lot of time discussing the prices of seeds and the weather. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains really hard but we just move the papers to a dry spot. Sudama Bai is well known around here so people know where the office is. We don't have a website or anything fancy. If someone needs something they just walk over and talk to us. We handle the paperwork for the collective and try to keep things organized. It gets busy during harvest time when everyone is trying to get things sorted at once. The rest of the year it is a bit slower. We are just regular people from the village. We talk about the crops and how the soil is doing this year. There is always someone coming in to complain about something or ask for advice. We just listen and do what we can to help the group stay together and move forward. It is just a practical way for us to survive.
