Jhuraha Baba Kishan Producer Company Limited is based out of Katrawal, a small village near Banda. If you come looking for us, you’ll find our main spot at Omkar Singh’s house. It’s just a regular village home where we meet up to discuss what we are growing and how to sell it better. We are all from around here, so we know everyone in the village. Farming in this part of Uttar Pradesh is never straightforward. One year the rain is too much, and the next it’s not enough. We decided to register this company because we wanted to see if we could do things a bit more formally, even though we still feel like just a group of neighbors. We handle a lot of the local crops and try to make sure nobody is getting left behind. You won't find any slick brochures or corporate talk here. We talk in the same way we do when we are out in the fields or sitting under the trees in the evening. It’s hard work, and sometimes the paperwork feels like more than we can handle, but it’s part of the job now. We are just trying to make a decent living from the land we’ve always known. There is no big mystery to it, just farmers coming together in Katrawal to see if we can make life a little bit easier for everyone in the area.
