Bahata Farmer Producer Company Limited is situated in the Bahata Bangar area of Mathura. If you look for us, we’re associated with Rajvir Singh’s family there. Mathura is a place with a lot of history, but for us, it’s mostly about the fields and the livestock. Farming in this part of the state has its own set of problems. The soil is different, and the water isn't always where you need it to be. We decided to form this company so we could have a bit more say in how our products are sold. Usually, you just take what the market gives you, but together we have a bit more weight. We are just local farmers, no big city experts here. We talk in the evenings after the work is done. Usually, it's about the price of diesel or why the wheat isn't growing as tall as last year. We don't use any fancy words or have big meetings with slides. It’s more like a group of friends trying to make sure everyone survives the next season. Bahata is our home, and we care about the people living here. Most of our members have been farming their whole lives. We know the land like the back of our hands. It’s a simple operation, run out of a local house, but it helps us feel a bit more in control of our own lives and our future crops.
