Visheshwar Farmer Producer Company Limited

The Visheshwar Farmer Producer Company Limited is located in Amkolwa. That is near Visweswar Ganj in Bahraich, though technically we fall under the Ikauna area in Shrawasti. It is a bit of a trek to get here if you are not from around these parts. We work from Ram Ujagar’s place. It is a typical village home where the front room has been turned into a place for the company’s business. We have a lot of members from both Bahraich and Shrawasti because we are right on the edge of the two districts. Farming here can be tricky because of the floods sometimes, so we try to help each other out when things get bad. We handle seeds, fertilizers, and help with selling the grain. There is no big signage or flashing lights. You just look for the house where all the farmers are gathered. We spend a lot of time drinking chai and discussing the government rates or which tractor parts are the cheapest. It is not a polished operation, and there is often mud on the floor from people coming in from the fields. We do not have any fancy brochures to hand out. If someone wants to know about us, they just come and talk. We are just trying to make a living from the land we have. It is a simple life, but it takes a lot of effort to keep everything running smoothly throughout the year.
