Vasundharagold Farmer Producer Company Limited is located at Prakash Vishnu Dange’s place. It’s Flat No H11298 in Ayodhya Nagari, on Radhika Road in Karanje. It is a bit different having a farm business based in a flat, but that is where we do all our planning. We aren't always in the fields; someone has to handle the phone calls and the traders. Most of our members live around the Karanje area. We came together because we wanted to have more say in how our crops are sold. We mostly deal with what grows well in this part of the district. The flat gets pretty full when we have our monthly meetings. We sit on the floor sometimes if there aren't enough chairs for everyone. We talk about the costs of transport and how the local market is doing. We aren't some big corporation with a fancy lobby. We are just a group of people who know a lot about dirt and crops. Prakash keeps all the files in a big metal cabinet in the corner. Sometimes we lose track of the receipts, but we eventually find them. It is a bit messy, but it is real life. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words. We just want to make sure the farmers in our group get a decent return for their hard work. It is a simple goal, but it keeps us busy every single day.
