Sunshine E.M.High School

We are situated in the Housing Board area of Anantapur. The school has been part of this community for a while now. Sunshine E.M.High School is basically just a few buildings where the local kids spend their day. The 515001 area is fairly quiet compared to the main town center. Our classrooms have the basic stuff like wooden benches and big blackboards. In the mornings, you can see the yellow buses pulling up and dropping off the children. The staff room is always a bit messy with books and lunch boxes everywhere. We don't spend money on fancy decorations; we mostly just fix the fans when they stop working or paint the gate when it starts to rust. There is a small playground, but it's mostly just hard ground where the kids run around during the short break. Rain makes things a bit difficult because the yard gets puddles, but the kids don't seem to mind much. We have a routine that we follow every day, starting with the assembly. Some of the teachers have been here since the school first opened. We talk to the parents at the gate most days. The water tank on the roof sometimes leaks, and we have to call the plumber to come and take a look. We have a small room where we store all the extra benches and broken chairs. Most of the families in the Housing Board know us quite well by now. It’s just a normal school life where we worry about the syllabus and the weather. That is pretty much the whole story of our school here in Anantapur.
