A.V.S. E.M.High School

Up here in Anantapur on S.K.U Road, things move at their own pace. A.V.S. E.M.High School is a place that many local families depend on. The building itself is sturdy, though it shows its age in places like the corners of the ceiling or the worn-out steps. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls, just the usual charts and student work pinned up. The sun really beats down on this part of town, so the morning assembly is always done as quickly as possible before it gets too hot. We have a mix of teachers, some who have been here forever and others who are just starting out. It’s a regular school day every day—chalk dust, heavy bags, and the sound of bells. We don't try to be anything we aren't. Our focus is just on the curriculum and making sure the children are actually learning something useful. The road outside can get a bit dusty with all the tractors and bikes passing by, but that’s just part of living in Anantapur. We see the same faces every day, and that’s fine with us. There’s a certain comfort in the routine of opening the gates at 8 AM and closing them in the late afternoon. It’s honest work, and the staff here puts in the hours without complaining much. We’re just a school on S.K.U Road trying to do right by the kids in our own small way. It is what it is.
