Chinnamaya Vidyalaya

Our school is located in D.B. Colony, which is part of the Lakshmipuram area in Hindupur. It’s a pretty standard neighborhood, and we’re right there among the houses. Chinnamaya Vidyalaya has been around for a while, and the building has that lived-in feel. We have high ceilings and some old fans that help with the Andhra heat. The morning assembly is usually the loudest part of our day. After that, it settles into the sound of teachers talking and pens scratching on paper. We don't have a lot of fancy technology; we mostly use books and the blackboard. The staff room is a small space where we sit and eat our lunch and talk about our own families. Hindupur is a busy town, but our street stays relatively quiet. We have a small playground that gets very dusty in the summer months. The children come from all over the colony and the nearby streets. We see them growing up year after year. It’s a practical place. We focus on the lessons and making sure the registers are up to date. There’s a lot of walking back and forth between the classrooms. When the final bell rings at the end of the day, there’s a big rush for the gate. We just tidy up our desks, lock the doors, and head home like everyone else in the neighborhood. It’s a steady, honest kind of life we have here.
