C K Public School is situated right by the Loluru Cross on the Gooty Highway. If you’re driving through Anantapur, you’ve probably seen the building near the main road. It’s a busy spot because of the highway traffic, but once you step inside, it’s all about the kids. We deal with a lot of dust from the road, so there’s always someone sweeping or dusting the benches. The staff here starts early to get things ready before the first bus arrives. We aren't trying to be anything flashy, just a school for the families around this part of Anantapur. Sometimes the wind picks up across the highway and blows through the halls. The classrooms are basic but they serve the purpose. Teachers spend their time going through notebooks and explaining things on the board. We have a playground out back where the kids run around until they’re tired. It gets pretty hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans going as much as we can. Most of us have lived in Anantapur our whole lives, so we know the people who send their children here. It's a steady routine of lessons, bells, and lunch boxes. We just keep at it, day after day, making sure the gates are locked at night and the floors are scrubbed for the next morning. It's a practical place, nothing more, nothing less. The principal’s office is usually full of files and old yearbooks, and it smells like floor cleaner in the morning. We don't have a big marketing budget. We just rely on word of mouth from neighbors.
